Open play is the perfect solution for children needing to burn off some energy. Kids can start out by bouncing down the 15’ long tumble track into the Ball Pit filled with colorful balls! Then they can navigate through tunnels, climbing obstacles, and the giant crayon balance beam. When they’ve had enough exercise they can move over to the giant Play Room filled with soft foam blocks, bean bag chairs, toys, costumes, and a full size play kitchen. When it's time to mellow out they can express themselves through painting, play-dough sculpting, coloring, and pasting in the 3rd room known as the Creative Room. There are puzzles galore to work their brains and you can finally let your child color all over the chalk board painted wall or rearrange the alphabet on the fully magnetic wall.

Friday, Aug. 13 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., when the Ski Run Farmers Market will kick off its debut offering a variety of fresh produce, handmade goods and tasty treats. This weekly market is being put on by Sacred Path Farms on the block between Birch and Larch avenues, and will go through the end of summer. This should be a great recurring community event, so get ready to stock up on fresh fruits, vegetables, honey, meats, seafood, salsa, breads, pastries, flowers, herbs, jellies and jams.
